The Brief
Roots & Futures is an organisation focused on community-led strategy, collaboration, and place-based change across the East Midlands. They needed a brand that felt credible, warm, and forward-thinking — something that could sit comfortably in a boardroom presentation or on a community workshop banner.
The brief was clear: grounded but not old-fashioned, strategic but not corporate.

01. Brand Identity

The Roots & Futures logo uses a distinctive serif typeface with elegant ligatures, giving the brand a sense of heritage and warmth while still feeling modern. The colour palette draws from the East Midlands landscape — earthy rusts, soft clays, and structured neutrals. The comprehensive brand guidelines cover everything from values and brand essence to tone of voice, social media templates, and future brand extensions.
02. Web Design
I designed and built the Roots & Futures website to reflect the brand's values — clean, accessible, and community-focused. The site serves as a hub for their research, workshops, and strategic projects, designed to be easy to navigate for diverse audiences.
